Ghazal no.18

1.
بسکہ دشوار ہے ہر کام کا آساں ہونا
آدمی کو بھی میسّر نہیں انساں ہونا
2.
گریہ چاہے ہے خرابی مرے کاشانے کی
در و دیوار سے ٹپکے ہے بیاباں ہونا
3.
وائے دیوانگیِ شوق کہ ہر دم مجھ کو
آپ جانا ادھر اور آپ ہی حیراں ہونا
4.
جلوہ از بسکہ تقاضاۓ نگہ کرتا ہے
جوہرِ آئنہ بھی چاہے ہے مژگاں ہونا
5.
عشرتِ قتل گۂ اہلِ تمنّا مت پوچھ
عیدِ نظّارہ ہے شمشیر کا عریاں ہونا
6.
لے گئے خاک میں ہم داغِ تمنّاۓ نشاط
تو ہو اور آپ بہ صد رنگ گلستاں ہونا
7.
عشرتِ پارۂ دل زخمِ تمنّا کھانا
لذّتِ ریشِ جگر غرقِ نمک داں ہونا
8.
کی مرے قتل کے بعد اس نے جفا سے توبہ
ہائے اس زود پشیماں کا پشیماں ہونا
9.
حیف اس چار گرہ کپڑے کی قسمت غالب
جس کی قسمت میں ہو عاشق کا گریباں ہونا

बसकि दुशवार है हर काम का आसां होना
आदमी को भी मुयससर नहीं इनसां होना
2.
गिरयह चाहे है ख़राबी मिरे काशाने की
दर-ओ-दीवार से टपके है बयाबां होना
3.
वाए दीवानगी-ए शौक़ कि हर दम मुझ को
आप जाना उधर और आप ही हैरां होना
4.
जलवह अज़-बसकि तक़ाज़ा-ए निगह करता है
जौहर-ए आइनह भी चाहे है मिज़हगां होना
5.
इशरत-ए क़तल-गह-ए अहल-ए तमनना मत पूछ
`ईद-ए नज़ज़ारह है शमशीर का `उरयां होना
6.
ले गए ख़ाक में हम दाग़-ए तमनना-ए नशात
तू हो और आप ब सद-रनग गुलिसतां होना
7.
`इशरत-ए पारह-ए दिल ज़ख़म-ए तमनना खाना
लज़ज़त-ए रेश-ए जिगर ग़रक़-ए नमक-दां होना
8.
की मिरे क़तल के ब`द उस ने जफ़ा से तौबह
हाए उस ज़ूद-पशेमां का पशेमां होना
9.
हैफ़ उस चार गिरह कपड़े की क़िसमत ग़ालिब
जिस की क़िसमत में हो `आशिक़ का गरेबां होना

giryah chaahe hai ;xaraabii mire kaashaane kii
dar-o-diivaar se ;Tapke hai bayaabaa;N honaa
3.
vaa))e diivaanagii-e shauq kih har dam mujh ko
aap jaanaa udhar aur aap hii ;hairaa;N honaa
4.
jalvah az-baskih taqaa.zaa-e nigah kartaa hai
jauhar-e aa))inah bhii chaahe hai mizhgaa;N honaa
5.
((ishrat-e qatl-gah-e ahl-e tamannaa mat puuchh
((iid-e na:z:zaarah hai shamshiir kaa ((uryaa;N honaa
6.
le ga))e ;xaak me;N ham daa;G-e tamannaa-e nashaa:t
tuu ho aur aap bah .sad-rang gulistaa;N honaa
7.
((ishrat-e paarah-e dil za;xm-e tamannaa khaanaa
la;z;zat-e resh-e jigar ;Garq-e namak-daa;N honaa
8.
kii mire qatl ke ba((d us ne jafaa se taubah
haa))e us zuud-pashemaa;N kaa pashemaa;N honaa
9.
haif us chaar girah kap;Re kii qismat ;Gaalib
jis kii qismat me;N ho ((aashiq kaa garebaa;N honaa

Translation

1.
Since it is difficult for each and every purpose to be easy,
Human being is also deprived of being polite.
2.
Weeping is trying to ruin my house,
Wilderness is oozing from doors and walls.
( Teardrops are creating greenery.)
3.
Alas! madness of desire trying me every moment,
I go there at my own,and now I am perplexed.
4.
Display,with severity demands for a glance,
Skill of the mirror,too has wishes to be eyelashes.
( Lines on the mirror after washing.)
5.
Pleasure on the altar are the craving of capable,
Sight of the festival is the naked sword.
( The person who has some ideals.)
( After the sight of moon Eid is celebrated.)
( Shape of the sword is like the moon of Eid.)
6.
I drag myself to the dust of the blemish desire for joy,
You are here,and then how in numerous way garden can be formed.
( Pain of desire for joy.) ( Greenery.)
7.
Pleasure of fragment of heart and the compartment of wounded desire,
Taste of the wound of heart will get by drowning in salted water.
( Unfulfilled desires.)
8.
After my murder she vowed not to get involved in oppressions,
Alas! the embarrassment of the person who repents soon.
9.
Oh! see the fate of that four yard cloth 'Ghalib',
A mere poor lover is his destiny.
