1.

To sacrifice one's life for that idol is exactly what faith is,

So then how can life be held dearer than she.

(To sacrifice one's life is exactly proper to death.)

(Idol is my faith, therefore one's life is sacrificed for faith.)

(In the religious seat of passion, to hold one's life dearer than the beloved is heresy.)

2.

Apparently the head of your arrow emerged from my heart, but truth is that is still has not emerged from the heart,

In its place in the heart of love for it is pricking like the head of an arrow that had broken off and remained in the heart, and you have pulled it out.

(The beloved's arrow emerged from the heart, but its frisson, its relish, still remains. Therefore its emerging is equal to its not emerging.)

(What a sophisticated riddle and simple mood of love.)

3.

The harshness of the event says, you ought to give up your life,

And life is such a dearer thing that under any circumstances, a man does not wish to give it up.

(Although separation from the beloved is a very soul-destroying event, still one will be forced to endure this shock. Because everyone's life is, under all circumstances, dearer to him.)
