Ghazal no. 77
1.
बीम-ए रक़ीब से नहीं करते विदा-ए होश
मजबूर याँ तलक हुए ऐ इख़्तियार हैफ़
2.
जलता है दिल कि क्यूँ न हम इक बार जल गए
ऐ ना-तमामी-ए नफ़स-ए शुला-बार हैफ़

بیمِ رقیب سے نہیں کرتے وداعِ ہوش
مجبور یاں تلک ہوئے اے اختیار حیف
2
جلتا ہے دل کہ کیوں نہ ہم اک بار جل گئے
اے نا تمامیِ نفسِ شعلہ بار حیف

biim-e raqiib se nahii;N karte vidaa((-e hosh
majbuur yaa;N talak hu))e ai i;xtiyaar ;haif
2.
jaltaa hai dil kih kyuu;N nah ham ik baar jal ga))e
ai naa-tamaamii-e nafas-e shu((lah-baar ;haif

Translation
1.
Through fear of the rival I do not take farewell of sense,
I became helpless to the extent, oh ability alas!
2.
The heart feel jealous, why did not I burn up at once,
Oh! incompetency of the fire radiating breath, alas!
