Ghazal no.72

1.

न गुल-ए नग़मा हूँ न पर्दा-ए साज़
मैं हूँ अपनी शिकस्त की आवाज़
2.
तू और आराइश-ए ख़म-ए काकुल
मैं और अंदेशहहा-ए दूर-दराज़
3.
लाफ़-ए तम्कीं फ़रेब-ए सादा-दिली
हम हैं और राज़हा-ए सीना-गुदाज़
4.
हूँ गिरिफ़तार-ए उलफ़त-ए सैयाद
वरना बाक़ी है ताक़त-ए परवाज़
5.
वो भी दिन हो कि उस सितम-गर से
नाज़ खेंचूँ बजा-ए हसरत-ए नाज़
6.
नहीं दिल में मिरे वो क़तरा-ए ख़ूँ
जिस से मिझ़्गाँ हुई न हो गुल-बाज़
7.
ऐ तिरा ग़मज़ा यक-क़लम अंगेज़
ऐ तिरा ज़ुलम सर ब सर अंदाज़
8.
तू हुआ जलवा-गर मुबारक हो
रेज़िश-ए सिजदा-ए जबीन-ए नियाज़
9.
मुझ को पूछा तो कुछ ग़ज़ब न हुआ
मैं ग़रीब और तू ग़रीब-नवाज़
10.
असदुल्लाह ख़ाँ तमाम हुआ
ऐ दरेग़ा वो रिंद-ए शाहिद-बाज़

نہ گلِ نغمہ ہوں نہ پردۂ ساز
میں ہوں اپنی شکست کی آواز
2.
تو اور آرائشِ خمِ کاکل
میں اور اندیشہہائے دور دراز
3.
لافِ تمکیں فریبِ سادہ دلی
ہم ہیں اور رازہائے سینہ گداز
4.
ہوں گرفتارِ الفتِ صیّاد
ورنہ باقی ہے طاقتِ پرواز
5.
وہ بھی دن ہو کہ اس ستم گر سے
ناز کھینچوں بجائے حسرتِ ناز
6.
نہیں دل میں مرے وہ قطرۂ خوں
جس سے مژگاں ہوئی نہ ہو گل باز
7.
اے ترا غمزہ یک قلم انگیز
اے ترا ظلم سر بہ سر انداز
8.
تو ہوا جلوہ گر مبارک ہو
ریزشِ سجدۂ جبینِ نیاز
9.
مجھ کو پوچھا تو کچھ غضب نہ ہوا
میں غریب اور تو غریب نواز
10.
اسدلٰہ خاں تمام ہوا
اے دریغا وہ رندِ شاہد باز

mai;N aur andeshah'haa-e duur-daraaz

laaf-e tamkii;N fareb-e saadah-dilii
ham hai;N aur raaz'haa-e siinah-gudaaz
4.
huu;N giriftaar-e ulfat-e .saiyaad
varnah baaqii hai :taaqat-e parvaaz
5.
vuh bhii din ho kih us sitam-gar se
naaz khe;Nchuu;N bajaa-e ;hasrat-e naaz
6.
nahii;N dil me;N mire vuh qa:trah-e ;xuu;N
jis se mizhgaa;N hu))ii nah ho gul-baaz
7.
ay tiraa ;Gamzah yak-qalam angez
ay tiraa :zulm sar bah sar andaaz
9.
tuu hu))aa jalvah-gar mubaarak ho
rezish-e sijdah-e jabiin-e niyaaz
9.
mujh ko puuchhaa to kuchh ;Ga.zab nah hu))aa
mai;N ;Gariib aur tuu ;Gariib-navaaz
10.
asadull;aah ;xaa;N tamaam hu))aa
ay dare;Gaa vuh rind-e shaahid-baaz

Translation

1.

I am neither the flower of melodious song nor the notes of musical instruments,

I am the sound of my own dejection.

2.

You and the decoration of curly strand of hairs,

I and faraway long apprehension and different subjects.

3.

A bragging of dignity, a deceit of the simplicity of heart,

A am and heart-burning secrets.

4.

I am arrested by the love of the flower,

Otherwise strength for flight is still remaining.

5.

May also that day come, when from that oppressor,

I would pamper coquetry, than to desire for coquetry.

6.

In my heart is not that droplet of blood,

With which the eyelashes, would not have been played with flowers.

(One game in which the players shower the flowers upon each other.)

7.

Ah your amorous glances totally arousing,

Ah your tyranny completely fuss.

8.

You became splendour personality, congratulations to you,

The raining out of the bow of worship with the forehead.

9.

If you ask about me, then nothing so big matter would occur,

I am the poor, and you a generous to poor.

10.

"Asad" ullah Khan became finished,

How sad, that religion restraint and beauty charmer.
