क्यूंकर उस बुत से रखूँ जान अज़ीज़
क्या नहीं है मुझे ईमान अज़ीज़

दिल से निकला पे न निकला दिल से
है तिरे तीर का पैकान अज़ीज़

ताब लाए ही बनेगी ग़ालिब
वाक़िअह सख़्त है और जान अज़ीज़

کیونکر اس بت سے رکھوں جان عزیز
کیا نہیں ہے مجھے ایمان عزیز
2.
دل سے نکلا پہ نہ نکلا دل سے
ہے ترے تیر کا پیکان عزیز

تاب لائے ہی بنےگی غالب
واقعہ سخت ہے اور جان عزیز

Translation
1.
For what would I keep my life safe than that idol,
What, is honesty not favourite to me.
2.
It emerged from the heart, but it did not come out from the heart,
The points of your arrows is dear to me.
3.
Only having shown patience will do success, "Ghalib",
The incident is severe, and life is dear to me.
