Ghazal no.49

1.
عشرتِ قطرہ ہے دریا میں فنا ہو جانا
درد کا حد سے گزرنا ہے دوا ہو جانا
2.
تجھ سے قسمت میں مری صورتِ قفلِ ابجد
تھا لکھا بات کے بنتے ہی جدا ہو جانا
3.
دل ہوا کشمکشِ چارۂ زحمت میں تمام
مٹ گیا گھسنے میں اس عقدے کا وا ہو جانا
4.
اب جفا سے بھی ہیں محروم ہم ال لیٰہ ال لیٰہ
اس قدر دشمنِ اربابِ وفا ہو جانا
5.
ضعف سے گریہ مبدّل بہ دمِ سرد ہوا
باور آیا ہمیں پانی کا ہوا ہو جانا
6.
دل سے مٹنا تری انگشتِ حنائی کا خیال
ہو گیا گوشت سے ناخن کا جدا ہو جانا
7.
ہے مجھے ابرِ بہاری کا برس کر کھلنا
روتے روتے غمِ فرقت میں فنا ہو جانا
8.
گر نہیں نک‌ہتِ گل کو ترے کوچے کی ہوس
کیوں ہے گردِ رۂ جولانِ صبا ہو جانا
9.
بخشے ہے جلوۂ گل ذوقِ تماشا غالب
چشم کو چاہیے ہر رنگ میں وا ہو جانا
10.
تا کہ تجھ پر کھلے اعجازِ ہواۓ صیقل
دیکھ برسات میں سبز آئنے کا ہو جانا

इशरत-ए क़तरह है दरया में फ़ना हो जाना
दरद का हद से गुज़रना है दवा हो जाना
2.
तुझ से क़िसमत में मिरी सूरत-ए क़ुफ़ल-ए अबजद
था लिखा बात के बनते ही जुदा हो जाना
3.
दिल हुआ कशमकश-ए चारह-ए ज़हमत में तमाम
मिट गया घिसने में इस `उक़दे का वा हो जाना
4.
अब जफ़ा से भी हैं महरूम हम अललाह अललाह
इस क़दर दुशमन-ए अरबाब-ए वफ़ा हो जाना
5.
ज़ु`फ़ से गिरयह मुबददल ब दम-ए सरद हुआ
बावर आया हमें पानी का हवा हो जाना
6.
दिल से मिटना तिरी अनगुशत-ए हिनाई का ख़याल
हो गया गोशत से नाख़ुन का जुदा हो जाना
7.
है मुझे अबर-ए बहारी का बरस कर खुलना
रोते रोते ग़म-ए फ़रक़त में फ़ना हो जाना
8.
गर नहीं नकहत-ए गुल को तिरे कूचे की हवस
कयूं है गरद-ए रह-ए जौलान-ए सबा हो जाना
9.
ता कि तुझ पर खुले इ`जाज़-ए हवा-ए सैक़ल
देख बरसात में सबज़ आइने का हो जाना
10.
बख़शे है जलवह-ए गुल ज़ौक़-ए तमाशा ग़ालिब
चशम को चाहिये हर रनग में वा हो जाना

tujh se qismat me;N mirii .suurat-e qufl-e abjad
thaa likhaa baat ke bante hii judaa ho jaanaa
3.
dil hu))aa kashmakash-e chaarah-e za;hmat me;N tamaam
mi;T gayaa ghisne me;N is ((uqde kaa vaa ho jaanaa
4.
ab jafaa se bhii hai;N ma;hruum ham all;aah all;aah
is qadar dushman-e arbaab-e vafaa ho jaanaa
5.
.zu((f se giryah mubaddal bah dam-e sard hu))aa
baavar aayaa hame;N paanii kaa havaa ho jaanaa
6.
dil se mi;Tnaa tirii angusht-e ;hinaa))ii kaa ;xayaal
ho gayaa gosht se naa;xun kaa judaa ho jaanaa
7.
hai mujhe abr-e bahaarii kaa baras kar khulnaa
rote rote ;Gam-e farqat me;N fanaa ho jaanaa
8.
gar nahii;N nak'hat-e gul ko tire kuuche kii havas
kyuu;N hai gard-e rah-e jaulaan-e .sabaa ho jaanaa
9.
taa kih tujh par khule i((jaaz-e havaa-e .saiqal
dekh barsaat me;N sabz aa))ine kaa ho jaanaa
10.
ba;xshe hai jalvah-e gul ;zauq-e tamaashaa ;Gaalib
chashm ko chaahiye har rang me;N vaa ho jaanaa

Translation

1.
The pleasure of droplet is, sublimation in the sea,
Agony's passing beyond the limit is, to become remedy.
2.
With you, in my fate, like a combination lock only can be opened by numeric or alphabetical assemble,
Was written, at the moment of succeeding to become separated.
3.
The heart, in the struggle to treat the trouble, became finished off,
In being rubbed, the becoming open of this problem was erased.
4.
Now I am deprived even of oppression, my God, my God,
To this extent, to become an enemy of the possessors of faithfulness.
5.
Due to weakness, weeping transformed into a cold sigh,
It becomes confirmed to me, the process of water's becoming steam.
6.
The erasing from the heart, of the thought of your fingers decorated with henna,
Started becoming separated of the fingernail from the flesh.
7.
To me the bursting of the spring rain cloud is,
Weeping and weeping, in the grief of separation, to become destructed.
8.
If the fragrance of the flower is not having an eagerness for your lane,
Why is the becoming dust of the path agile of the breeze?
9.
So that the honour for polished eagerness would be revealed to you,
Watch at, during the rainy season, the becoming green of the mirror.
10.
The display of the flowers bestows an artistic temperament for spectacle, "Ghalib",
The eye should in every condition, become alert.
