Ghazal no.35
1.
وہ مری چینِ جبیں سے غمِ پنہاں سمجھا
رازِ مکتوب بہ بے ربطیِ عنواں سمجھا
2.
یک الف بیش نہیں صیقلِ آئینہ ہنوز
چاک کرتا ہوں میں جب سے کہ گریباں سمجھا
3.
شرحِ اسبابِ گرفتاریِ خاطر مت پوچھ
اس قدر تنگ ہوا دل کہ میں زنداں سمجھا
4.
بد گمانی نے نہ چاہا اسے سر گرمِ خرام
رخ پہ ہر قطرہ عرق دیدۂ حیراں سمجھا
5.
عجز سے اپنے یہ جانا کہ وہ بد خو ہوگا
نبضِ خس سے تپشِ شعلۂ سوزاں سمجھا
6.
سفرِ عشق میں کی ضعف نے راحت طلبی
ہر قدم سائے کو میں اپنے شبستاں سمجھا
7.
تھا گریزاں مژۂ یار سے دل تا دمِ مرگ
دفعِ پیکانِ قضا اس قدر آساں سمجھا
8.
دل دیا جان کے کیوں اس کو وفادار اسد
غلطی کی کہ جو کافر کو مسلماں سمجھا

वह मिरी चीन-ए जबीं से ग़म-ए पिनहां समझा
राज़-ए मकतूब ब बे-रबती-ए `उनवां समझा
2.
यक अलिफ़ बेश नहीं सैक़ल-ए आईनह हनूज़
चाक करता हूं मैं जब से कि गरेबां समझा
3.
शरह-ए असबाब-ए गिरिफ़तारी-ए ख़ातिर मत पूछ
इस क़दर तनग हुआ दिल कि मैं ज़िनदां समझा
4.
बद-गुमानी ने न चाहा उसे सर-गरम-ए ख़िराम
रुख़ पह हर क़तरह `अरक़ दीदह-ए हैरां समझा
5.
`अजज़ से अपने यह जाना कि वह बद-ख़ू होगा
नबज़-ए ख़स से तपिश-ए शु`लह-ए सोज़ां समझा
6.
सफ़र-ए `इशक़ में की ज़ु`फ़ ने राहत-तलबी
हर क़दम साए को मैं अपने शबिसतां समझा
7.
था गुरेज़ां मिज़हह-ए यार से दिल ता दम-ए मरग
दफ़`-ए पैकान-ए क़ज़ा उस क़दर आसां समझा
8.
दिल दिया जान के कयूं उस को वफ़ादार असद
ग़लती की कि जो काफ़िर को मुसलमां समझा

bad-gumaanii ne nah chaahaa use sar-garm-e ;xiraam
ru;x pah har qa:trah ((araq diidah-e ;hairaa;N samjhaa
5.
((ajz se apne yih jaanaa kih vuh bad-;xuu hogaa
nab.z-e ;xas se tapish-e shu((lah-e sozaa;N samjhaa
6.
safar-e ((ishq me;N kii .zu((f ne raa;hat-:talabii
har qadam saa))e ko mai;N apne shabistaa;N samjhaa
7.
thaa gurezaa;N mizhah-e yaar se dil taa dam-e marg
daf((-e paikaan-e qa.zaa us qadar aasaa;N samjhaa
8.
dil diyaa jaan ke kyuu;N us ko vafaadaar asad
;Gala:tii kii kih jo kaafir ko musalmaa;N samjhaa

Translation

1.
From the frown on my forehead she understood the secret grief,
Mystery of the letter she came to know from the incongruous title and form.
2.
A single alphabet is not enough to polish the mirror by rubbing until now,
I am tearing out the collar ever since I understood it to be a collar.
3.
Do not ask for the explanation for the reason of sadness of the temperament,
To the extent the heart became narrow, I understood it a prison-cell.
4.
Misunderstanding did not want her to be from engrossed graceful gait,
It understood every droplet of sweat on the cheek to be the perplexed eyes.
5.
Because of my own dignity, I believed that she would be unpleasant,
From the pulse of the hay, I understood the heat of the burning flame.
6.
In the journey of love, weakness desired for the comfort,
At every footstep, I understood my own shadow as my bed-chamber.
7.
The heart used to flee from the eyelashes of beloved until the moment of death,
To escape from the arrow of death, I considered easy to that extent.
8.
Why you gave your heart considering her loyal "Asad",
You committed a mistake, that you considered an infidel as a religious.
