Ghazal no.3

1.
جز قیس اور کوئی نہ آیا بہ روۓ کار
صحرا مگر بہ تنگیِ چشمِ حسود تھا
2.
آشفتگی نے نقشِ سویدا کیا درست
ظاہر ہوا کہ داغ کا سرمایہ دود تھا
3.
تھا خواب میں خیال کو تجھ سے معاملہ
جب آنکھ کھل گئی نہ زیاں تھا نہ سود تھا
4.
لیتا ہوں مکتبِ غمِ دل میں سبق ہنوز
لیکن یہی کہ رفت گیا اور بود تھا
5.
ڈھانپا کفن نے داغِ عیوبِ برہنگی
میں ورنہ ہر لباس میں ننگِ وجود تھا
6.
تیشے بغیر مر نہ سکا کوہکن اسد
سرگشتۂ خمارِ رسوم و قیود تھا

जुज़ क़ैस और कोई न आया ब रू-ए कार
सहरा मगर ब तनगी-ए चशम-ए-हसूद था
2.
आशुफ़तगी ने नक़श-ए सुवैदा किया दुरुसत
ज़ाहिर हुआ कि दाग़ का सरमायह दूद था
3.
था ख़वाब में ख़याल को तुझ से मु`आमलह
जब आंख खुल गई न ज़ियां था न सूद था
4.
लेता हूं मकतब-ए ग़म-ए दिल में सबक़ हनूज़
लेकिन यिही कि रफ़त गया और बूद था
5.
ढांपा कफ़न ने दाग़-ए `उयूब-ए बरहनगी
मैं वरनह हर लिबास में ननग-ए-वुजूद था
6.
तेशे बग़ैर मर न सका कोहकन असद
सरगशतह-ए ख़ुमार-ए रुसूम-ओ-क़ुयूद था

aashuftagii ne naqsh-e suvaidaa kiyaa durust
:zaahir hu))aa kih daa;G kaa sarmaayah duud thaa
3.
thaa ;xvaab me;N ;xayaal ko tujh se mu((aamalah
jab aa;Nkh khul ga))ii nah ziyaa;N thaa nah suud thaa
4.
letaa huu;N maktab-e ;Gam-e dil me;N sabaq hanuuz
lekin yihii kih raft gayaa aur buud thaa
5.
;Dhaa;Npaa kafan ne daa;G-e ((uyuub-e barahnagii
mai;N varnah har libaas me;N nang-e vujuud thaa
6.
teshe ba;Gair mar nah sakaa kohkan asad
sargashtah-e ;xumaar-e rusuum-o-quyuud thaa

Translation

1.
Except Quais,no one else entered the action for cause,
The desert was perhaps as narrow as a mean-hearten glance.
(Majnu )
2.
Being distressed corrected the grief prints of the heart,
Apparent that the wealth of the scar was only smoke.
3.
In the dream,the opinion was carrying disputes with you,
When the eyes opened,there was neither any profit nor loss.
4.
I hitherto take lessons in the school of grief of ticker,
But only this much that depart is departed and what was present is past.
5.
The shroud veiled the wound of blemish bareness,
Otherwise,in every other robe,I was destitute.
6.
Without a small pick-axe the mountain-digger was not able to die 'ASAD'
Stupefied he was by the intoxicated customs and restrictions.
