Ghazal no.28

1.
گلہ ہے شوق کو دل میں بھی تنگیِ جا کا
گہر میں محو ہوا اضطراب دریا کا
2.
یہ جانتا ہوں کہ تو اور پاسخِ مکتوب
مگر ستم زدہ ہوں ذوقِ خامہ فرسا کا
3.
حناۓ پاۓ خزاں ہے بہار اگر ہے یہی
دوام کلفتِ خاطر ہے عیش دنیا کا
4.
غمِ فراق میں تکلیفِ سیرِ باغ نہ دو
مجھے دماغ نہیں خندہ‌ہاۓ بے جا کا
5.
ہنوز محرمیِ حسن کو ترستا ہوں
کرے ہے ہر بنِ مو کام چشمِ بینا کا
6.
دل اس کو پہلے ہی ناز و ادا سے دے بیٹھے
ہمیں دماغ کہاں حسن کے تقاضا کا
7.
نہ کہہ کہ گریہ بہ مقدارِ حسرتِ دل ہے
مری نگاہ میں ہے جمع و خرج دریا کا
8.
فلک کو دیکھ کے کرتا ہوں اس کو یاد اسد
جفا میں اس کی ہے انداز کار فرما کا

गिलह है शौक़ को दिल में भी तनगी-ए जा का
गुहर में महव हुआ इज़तिराब दरया का
2.
यह जानता हूं कि तू और पासुख़-ए मकतूब
मगर सितम-ज़दह हूं ज़ौक़-ए ख़ामह-फ़रसा का
3.
हिना-ए पा-ए ख़िज़ां है बहार अगर है यिही
दवाम कुलफ़त-ए ख़ातिर है `ऐश दुनया का
4.
ग़म-ए फ़िराक़ में तकलीफ़-ए सैर-ए गुल न दो
मुझे दिमाग़ नहीं ख़नदहहा-ए बे-जा का
5.
हनूज़ महरमी-ए हुसन को तरसता हूं
करे है हर बुन-ए मू काम चशम-ए बीना का
6.
दिल उस को पहले ही नाज़-ओ-अदा से दे बैठे
हमें दिमाग़ कहां हुसन के तक़ाज़ा का
7.
न कह कि गिरयह ब मिक़दार-ए हसरत-ए दिल है
मिरी निगाह में है जम`-ओ-ख़रज दरया का
8.
फ़लक को देख के करता हूं उस को याद असद
जफ़ा में उस की है अनदाज़ कार-फ़रमा का

yih jaantaa huu;N kih tuu aur paasu;x-e maktuub
magar sitam-zadah huu;N ;zauq-e ;xaamah-farsaa kaa
3.
;hinaa-e paa-e ;xizaa;N hai bahaar agar hai yihii
davaam kulfat-e ;xaa:tir hai ((aish dunyaa kaa
4.
;Gam-e firaaq me;N takliif-e sair-e gul nah do
mujhe dimaa;G nahii;N ;xandah'haa-e be-jaa kaa
5.
hanuuz ma;hramii-e ;husn ko tarastaa huu;N
kare hai har bun-e muu kaam chashm-e biinaa kaa
6.
dil us ko pahle hii naaz-o-adaa se de bai;The
hame;N dimaa;G kahaa;N ;husn ke taqaa.zaa kaa
7.
nah kah kih giryah bah miqdaar-e ;hasrat-e dil hai
mirii nigaah me;N hai jam((-o-;xarj daryaa kaa
8.
falak ko dekh ke kartaa huu;N us ko yaad asad
jafaa me;N us kii hai andaaz kaar-farmaa kaa

Translation

1.
My ardor has the complaint of insufficient space in the heart too,
Absorbed in the pearl the restlessness of the sea.
2.
I know too well about you and your reply,
But I am oppressed of the addiction of wearing away the pen.
3.
Spring is the henna on the feet of autumn,if it is so,
Then distress of the heart is eternity for luxury of the world.
4.
In the grief of separation do not press me for the trouble of garden-strolling,
I have no temperament of inappropriate smiles.
5.
Hitherto I am craving to be acquainted with beauty,
Every root of hair is doing the work of discerning vision.
6.
Already I have lost the heart to her with pride,
I have no intelligence to understand the demand of beauty.
7.
Do not say that the weeping is the result of desire of heart,
In my opinion it is the account of the sea.
8.
I do watch the sky and remember her "Asad",
Within her oppression lies the mannerism of a ruler.
