Ghazal no.5

1.
دل مرا سوزِ نہاں سے بے محابا جل گیا
آتشِ خاموش کے مانند گویا جل گیا
2.
دل میں ذوقِ وصل و یادِ یار تک باقی نہیں
آگ اس گھر میں لگی ایسی کہ جو تھا جل گیا
3.
میں عدم سے بھی پرے ہوں ورنہ غافل بار ہا
میری آۂ آتشیں سے بالِ عنقا جل گیا
4.
عرض کیجے جوہرِ اندیشہ کی گرمی کہاں
کچھ خیال آیا تھا وحشت کا کہ صحرا جل گیا
5.
دل نہیں تجھ کو دکھاتا ورنہ داغوں کی بہار
اس چراغاں کا کروں کیا کار فرما جل گیا
6.
میں ہوں اور افسردگی کی آرزو غالب کہ دل
دیکھ کر طرزِ تپاکِ اہلِ دنیا جل گیا

दिल मिरा सोज़-ए निहां से बे-मुहाबा जल गया
आतिश-ए ख़ामोश के मानिनद गोया जल गया
2.
दिल में ज़ौक़-ए वसल-ओ-याद-ए यार तक बाक़ी नहीं
आग इस घर में लगी ऐसी कि जो था जल गया
3.
मैं `अदम से भी परे हूं वरनह ग़ाफ़िल बार-हा
मेरी आह-ए आतिशीं से बाल-ए `अनक़ा जल गया
4.
`अरज़ कीजे जौहर-ए अनदेशह की गरमी कहां
कुछ ख़याल आया था वहशत का कि सहरा जल गया
5.
दिल नहीं तुझ को दिखाता वरनह दाग़ों की बहार
उस चिराग़ां का करूं कया कार-फ़रमा जल गया
6.
मैं हूं और अफ़सुरदगी की आरज़ू ग़ालिब कि दिल
देख कर तरज़-ए तपाक-ए-अहल-ए-दुनिया जल गया

aatish-e ;xaamosh ke maanind goyaa jal gayaa.
2.
dil me;N ;zauq-e va.sl-o-yaad-e yaar tak baaqii nahii;N
aag is ghar me;N lagii aisii kih jo thaa jal gayaa.
3.
mai;N ((adam se bhii pare huu;N varnah ;Gaafil baar-haa
merii aah-e aatishii;N se baal-e ((anqaa jal gayaa.
4.
((ar.z kiije jauhar-e andeshah kii garmii kahaa;N
kuchh ;xayaal aayaa thaa va;hshat kaa kih .sa;hraa jal gayaa.
5.
dil nahii;N tujh ko dikhaataa varnah daa;Go;N kii bahaar
us chiraa;Gaa;N kaa karuu;N kyaa kaar-farmaa jal gayaa.
6.
mai;N huu;N aur afsurdagii kii aarzuu ;Gaalib kih dil
dekh kar :tarz-e tapaak-e ahl-e dunyaa jal gayaa

Translation

1.
My heart burned suddenly from the hidden scorching,
Same if a murmuring silent flame is burned.
2.
Not even sublime pleasure of union and memory of the beloved remained in the heart,
Flame so raged in this abode that whatever had lasted burned.
3.
I am beyond even nonexistence,otherwise,O inattentive one,often,
From my fiery sighs,the wings of Phoenix would have burned.
4.
How can the temper of the skill of apprehension be expressed humbly,
Just a thought of savage attitude had come and the desert burned.
5.
There is no heart,otherwise,I would have shown you a caravan of stained wounds,
What do I do with this illumination as its caretaker burned.
6.
I remain,and so the longing for dejection,Ghalib,for the heart,
Having seen the style of zeal of the being of the world,burned.
