Ghazal no.44

1.
ذکر اس پری وش کا اور پھر بیاں اپنا
بن گیا رقیب آخر تھا جو راز داں اپنا
2.
مے وہ کیوں بہت پیتے بزمِ غیر میں یا رب
آج ہی ہوا منظور ان کو امتحاں اپنا
3.
منظر اک بلندی پر اور ہم بنا سکتے
عرش سے ادھر ہوتا کاش کے مکاں اپنا
4.
دے وہ جس قدر ذلّت ہم ہنسی میں ٹالینگے
بارے آشنا نکلا ان کا پاسباں اپنا
5.
دردِ دل لکھوں کب تک جاؤں ان کو دکھلا دوں
انگلیاں فگار اپنی خامہ خوں چکاں اپنا
6.
گھستے گھستے مٹ جاتا آپ نے عبث بدلا
ننگِ سجدہ سے میرے سنگِ آستاں اپنا
7.
تا کرے نہ غمّازی کر لیا ہے دشمن کو
دوست کی شکایت میں ہم نے ہم زباں اپنا
8.
ہم کہاں کے دانا تھے کس ہنر میں یکتا تھے
بے سبب ہوا غالب دشمن آسماں اپنا

ज़िकर उस परी-वश का और फिर बयां अपना
बन गया रक़ीब आख़िर था जो राज़-दां अपना
2.
मै वह कयूं बहुत पीते बज़म-ए ग़ैर में या रब
आज ही हुआ मनज़ूर उन को इमतिहां अपना
3.
मनज़र इक बुलनदी पर और हम बना सकते
`अरश से इधर होता काश-के मकां अपना
4.
दे वह जिस क़दर ज़िललत हम हंसी में टालेंगे
बारे आशना निकला उन का पासबां अपना
5.
दरद-ए दिल लिखूं कब तक जाऊं उन को दिखला दूं
उंगलियां फ़िगार अपनी ख़ामह ख़ूं-चकां अपना
6.
घिसते घिसते मिट जाता आप ने `अबस बदला
ननग-ए सिजदह से मेरे सनग-ए आसतां अपना
7.
ता करे न ग़ममाज़ी कर लिया है दुशमन को
दोसत की शिकायत में हम ने हम-ज़बां अपना
8.
हम कहां के दाना थे किस हुनर में यकता थे
बे-सबब हुआ ग़ालिब दुशमन आसमां अपना

4.
de vuh jis qadar ;zillat ham ha;Nsii me;N ;Taale;Nge
baare aashnaa niklaa un kaa paasbaa;N apnaa
5.
dard-e dil likhuu;N kab tak jaa))uu;N un ko dikhlaa duu;N
u;Ngliyaa;N figaar apnii ;xaamah ;xuu;N-chakaa;N apnaa
6.
ghiste ghiste mi;T jaataa aap ne ((aba;s badlaa
nang-e sijdah se mere sang-e aastaa;N apnaa
7.
taa kare nah ;Gammaazii kar liyaa hai dushman ko
dost kii shikaayat me;N ham ne ham-zabaa;N apnaa
8.
ham kahaa;N ke daanaa the kis hunar me;N yaktaa the
be-sabab hu))aa ;Gaalib dushman aasmaa;N apnaa

Translation

1.
The mention of that fairy-faced and then my narration,
They became rival at last, who were my secret knowing.
2.
Why she used to drink too much wine in the assembly of rivals, oh God,
It is today that she became agreeable for my test.
3.
I would have been able to prepare a scenery on a great height,
May it so happened only my place was on this side of God's abode.
4.
No matter to what level he might disgrace me, I will ignore it by laughing,
Finally, my bodyguard turned out to be infatuated with her.
5.
How long I should write the grief of heart, I should go and show to her,
My wounded fingers and blood-soiled pen.
6.
Being rubbed and rubbed, it would have worned, without reason you changed it,
From the defective bow of mine, your stone of threshold.
7.
As long as he would not do back-biting, I have made the enemy,
In accusing about the friend, of my similar opinion.
8.
What kind of intelligent I was, in what skill I was matchless,
